PROCESS FOR MURALS
1. CONSULTATION
a. The artist will come to your home for a personal consultation. You will sit down with danielle and discuss the theme for the room, which walls will need to be painted, and take a look at
the furniture and any other pieces that need to be planned around.
(See pricing for consultation fee)
b. For out of the area clients, emailing pictures of the room with furniture and a phone consultation can complete this process.
2. DESIGN
a. Something special - Some clients will send danielle to the drawing board and have her create something original for their child’s room. (See pricing for design fee)
b. Pick from pre-existing characters - Other clients fall in love with characters they have already seen in the Painted Pals gallery and want them recreated with a few special touches just for them. (Any characters you see can have any colors substituted.)
Whichever road
you choose at the end of this stage you will have black and white sketches of the
characters and scenes that will be on your child’s walls.
3. PUTTING UP THE ART
a. Once your designs are ready to go, and your deposit is received, we will set a date to begin your project. (See pricing for deposit fees)
b. When the project start date arrives the fun begins.
Just so you know what to expect:
i. The first stage is getting all of the art drawn up all around the room.
ii. Secondly, is the blocking in process. This is where the large areas are filled with color. (At this stage the room often looks like a small child has been let loose on the walls but don’t worry… it will be taking shape in no time!)
iii. Next, the color will be touched up and brought to the line originally drawn.
iv. After that, the black lines will be put into outline all of the pieces and the characters
really begin to pop out.
v. Finally all of the details and final touches are added.
4. FINAL PAYMENT
a. Upon completion of the project the final payment will be due immediately.
5. LITTLE EXTRAS
a. You will receive a notarized certificate of authenticity and a picture of the art with a poem for your child’s scrapbook in the mail.
PROCESS FOR CARICATURES
1. Email Your Photographs
a. Send a close up photograph of each persons face that you want included in your caricature.
(Note: that the caricature will look very similar to the photo that you send so please make
sure it is a picture that the person likes of themselves.)
b. Face shots can be separate; so two people can be in two totally different photographs.
c. If you have a full body picture please include that as well. A body shot helps to get the general idea of build and height. If there are several people that are going to be in your caricature please let me know their heights in relation to each other.
d. If there are any questions after this, most can be taken care of through email correspondence. (i.e. eye color, etc.)
e. Please note that caricatures must be paid in full in advance. (See pricing for fees)
2. Caricatures will then be mailed to you.
